At Horace Batten, we take great pride in the craftsmanship and handwork that goes into every pair of our boots.

Horace Batten boots are built to last. With regular care and upkeep, they are designed to serve you for many years, and potentially a lifetime. Because of the way our boots are constructed, individual elements can be repaired or replaced over time as they naturally wear.

We offer a full repairs and aftercare service to help protect your investment and keep your boots looking, fitting, and performing at their best.

We undertake repair work on all Horace Batten boots. Our repairs and alterations service may also extend to boots not made by us; however, any work carried out on non-Horace Batten items is subject to a compulsory 10% surcharge on the total bill.

All repairs must also include a full clean and polish as standard, which is chargeable.

Sole, welt and heel repairs

All Prices are based on pairs of boots, we would always strongly recommend having both boots done at the same time, we will however take on individual items and prices can be adjusted accordingly. Sole work undertaken on full length boots, short boots and shoes by prior agreement.

New insole, re-welt, through sole and heel

This service replaces the entire lower section of the boot, including the insole. All sole components are renewed, the boot is re-lasted, and the work is hand-stitched using new materials.

Re-welt, through sole and heel

A re-welt, through sole and heel includes a new sole, hand-stitched heel, and replacement welt: the section that allows the sole to be securely attached to the boot.

Hunting Tops

New hunting tops can be added to boots with existing tops, or fitted to boots without them. Additional charges may apply where alterations or extensions are required.

Made to Measure Tops are crafted from the finest sourced topping leather, in a choice of Colours, Mahogany, Melton Tan, Plum, Black.

Champagne scouring tops

Champagne scouring tops can be added to suitable boots to refresh their appearance or alter their finish. Additional charges may apply where fitting, adjustment, or alteration work is required.

Patent leather tops can be added to suitable boots for a polished, high-shine finish. Additional charges may apply where alterations, extensions, or fitting adjustments are required.

Tops on rubber boots (Surcharge)

Tops can be added to suitable rubber boots to alter their appearance or provide a more traditional finish. Additional charges may apply where preparation, extensions, or fitting adjustments are required.
