Greenlee Boots
Built for Detail. Made for Purpose.
The name Greenlee comes from the original maker of this distinctive style of boot. Traditionally styled and highly practical, the Greenlee is one stage beyond the Field Boot, with three buckles and seven eyelets allowing the boot to open fully, removing the need for pulling on.
A key feature of the Greenlee Boot is its bellows tongue, designed to offer water resistance, though not complete waterproofing. This element is complex to make and requires specialist blocking to achieve its shape — a process Horace Batten has refined using machinery developed specifically for this purpose.
Made to measure and bespoke to the individual, the Greenlee is one of the most labour-intensive boots we produce, with many design details brought together in a single style. It is well established within the riding community and is also popular for shooting, particularly when made with a rubber commando sole.
Available in a range of leathers and made using traditional hand-welting methods, the Greenlee Boot reflects the history, practicality and craftsmanship at the heart of Horace Batten.
