The Horace Batten Boot Jack is a unique and practical design, originally developed and patented by our founder, Mr Horace Batten, in the 1920s.

Available in this black cast iron design, it offers excellent strength, weight and durability, making it ideal for use at home, outside the tack room, at the yard or when travelling in the horse box. Its solid construction helps keep the boot jack steady while in use, making the removal of riding, hunting and long boots far easier.

Designed with two different shaped openings for ladies’ and gentlemen’s boots, the Horace Batten Boot Jack provides a secure and practical way to remove boots without pulling at the leather, straining the foot or damaging the shape of the boot.

We also offer the original wooden version in either ash or elm, although these are usually made to order.

While there are many boot jacks available, we believe ours stands apart because of its longevity, weight and practical design. It is a useful accessory for anyone who wears long boots regularly, especially those with close-fitting riding boots that can be difficult to remove.
